Vaccination is highly effective in preventing HPV-associated disease, including cervical cancer, which disproportionately affects women from disadvantaged and minority ethnic backgrounds.

This paper examined inequalities in initiation of the HPV vaccination schedule among young women in the UK and reasons given by their parents for non-initiation.
