Clinical Academic Fellowships (NHS Scotland)
The aim of this scheme is to build research capacity in the Scottish NHS as such it provides the opportunity for clinical professionals early in their career to undertake a PhD
This scheme has been adapted and now has a wider eligibility than in previous years. The eligibility for doctors in training, GPs and dentists is unchanged but the scheme now includes NMAHPs and Healthcare scientists.
As the scheme is designed to support people early in their career there are eligibility limits around this which are outlined in the guidance document. As this is the first time this scheme has run in this format and CSO have not provided this opportunity to NMAHPs and Healthcare Scientists in previous years there will be some flexibility for the first few years of the scheme. However, if you do not fit within the normal eligibility limits you must discuss any potential application with CSO beforehand to ensure it will be accepted for assessment.
