🎤 Modernising the Cervical Cancer Audit

Regional Quality Improvement Project: The Audit of Invasive Cervical Cancer in Northern Ireland

Regional variation, delays, inconsistent governance and concerns about disclosure processes demonstrated the need for a more coordinated approach to invasive cervical cancer audit across Northern Ireland. 

In this presentation, Mari Paul will describe a regional quality improvement project designed to establish a patient-focused, consistent and timely audit process across all Northern Ireland Trusts. The project aims to strengthen governance, monitoring and disclosure while supporting regional learning and a high-quality patient experience. 

Mari Paul has worked in cytopathology in Northern Ireland for 20 years. Mari Paul holds a BSc and MSc in Biomedical Science and is currently undertaking the Advanced Specialist Diploma in Cervical Cytopathology. Professional interests include cervical cytology microscopy, cervical screening quality improvement and the laboratory contribution to invasive cervical cancer audit.
